“Things have always turned out right!” (the motto of the city of Cologne)

The "freundeskreis mittelständischer unternehmer" is the intelligent network of committed small to medium-sized industrial companies in North-Rhine Westphalia, whose objective is to provide a platform for individual and financial development and an opportunity for business owners to present their own companies, without spending excessive time and effort on bureaucracy. The jointly organised meetings on interesting subjects create a unique framework for a regular exchange of thoughts and knowledge. The aim of the circle of friends is to reflect on current themes affecting SMEs in such a way that direct value creation can be generated from current issues and the individual members’ many years of experience. 

“Things have always turned out right!”

This time, on Thursday 08.10.2009, we are organising a tour round the city of Düsseldorf. The start and destination will be the “Uerige”. In between we will walk to the Landtag and the Media Harbour. The tour will last around 90 to 100 minutes, and when we have finished the tour we will go to the “Uerige” brewery for a bite to eat. The themes during the tour are: Old Landtag / new Landtag, history of Düsseldorf: Jan Wellem / Heine / Goethe, transformation of the Media Harbour. Directions & parking: Drivers should head towards Düsseldorf city centre and then towards the old town. Parallel to the Rhine in the Rheinufertunnel there is an exit directly into the Rathausufer / Altstadt multi-storey car park. Here choose the Akademiestraße exit and you will be just a few steps away from the “Uerige”.

Timetable

• 17.30: Participants welcomed at the “Uerige”
• 18.00: Start of city tour (Landtag, Media Harbour, City gate, old town)
• 20.00: Meet up back at the “Uerige”
• Open-ended finish
